Responsibilities
Core responsibilities for a D Pharmacy professional:
- Dispensing prescribed medications accurately and efficiently.
- Compounding medications and preparing customized formulations when required.
- Labelling and packaging medications with appropriate instructions and safety information.
- Ensuring proper storage and handling of medications.
- Verifying prescription orders and conducting medication reviews for appropriateness and safety.
- Providing patient counselling on medication usage, potential side effects, and precautions.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication regimens.
- Monitoring and assessing patient responses to medications.
- Recognizing and reporting adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
- Maintaining accurate records of dispensed medications and patient information.
- Adhering to regulatory requirements and ethical standards in pharmacy practice.
- Assisting in inventory management and stock control of medications.
- Maintaining knowledge of current medications, drug interactions, and healthcare trends.
