Responsibilities

Core responsibilities for a D Pharmacy professional:

  • Compounding medications and preparing customized formulations when required.
  • Labelling and packaging medications with appropriate instructions and safety information.
  • Ensuring proper storage and handling of medications.
  • Verifying prescription orders and conducting medication reviews for appropriateness and safety.
  • Providing patient counselling on medication usage, potential side effects, and precautions.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication regimens.
  • Monitoring and assessing patient responses to medications.
  • Recognizing and reporting adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
  • Maintaining accurate records of dispensed medications and patient information.
  • Adhering to regulatory requirements and ethical standards in pharmacy practice.
  • Assisting in inventory management and stock control of medications.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current medications, drug interactions, and healthcare trends.

Eligibility

    Candidates applying for D Pharmacy programs are typically required to have completed their secondary education or equivalent, such as 10+2 or its equivalent with a science background (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics).
